My love of training began as a child; although at first it was of course the dog who trained me. And to walk of all things. Most toddlers have some sort of walking aid that helps them put one foot infront of the other and mine was a big cuddly golden retriever called Kane. To cut a long story short, the beginning of my love for dog training started long before I can even remember and luckily led me to end up in a job at a boarding kennels alongside studying law at university when I was 19 years old. In this job I progressed from kennel maid to gundog trainer and behaviouralist within a month of being there and although I never thought that it would be my end career path back then, I’m so thankful it did. I moved from Scotland to England, took a break from my studies, and got out in the field as much as I could with the team of Gundogs I now owned…. and never looked back! The thing I love most and aspire towards in my job is truly allowing people, and their dogs, to get the most out of their life together. My team are my family, my work colleagues and my best friends. They’re Gundogs, adventurers and family pets and they live their best lives. Helping others achieve these things with their own dogs is what Wildnook Gundogs is all about.
